Almost 10 Years Years Ago I Inherited These Gems
Almost ten years ago, when my aunts' husband passed away, I inherited a lot of comic books. To my dismay, while the death was unexpected, I was left with an abundance of prized processions. It was ultimately my responsibility to learn how to care correctly for them, and I didn't know anything about comics 🙈
Ya'll these comic books set in a closet at my house for years because I honestly had no idea what to do with them. I would just sit with them spread all over the floor just baffled yet bewildered that I actually inherited comic books. That in itself was amazing. It was such an astounding gesture.
I looked to my closest friends to teach me things they knew about the culture because they were so immersed within it.
However, here's what I did know –
- Stan Lee was one of the best things that happened to Marvel.
- You're supposed to keep comics in their wrappings, and not touch them because of the fragility of the pages.
- Taking a comic out of the wrapping depreciates the overall value of the comic.
- Seeing how much my friends marveled and raved about anime and the need to see the newest Marvel & DC movies, I knew I had something special. However, I just needed to figure out exactly what I had for myself.
- In order to appreciate them, you have to know what your reading. (and let's face it – I don't have a clue what I'm reading 🤷🏽♀️)
- Characters never die.
- It's a niche for every comic varying from fantasy, horror, humor, sci-fi, manga and more.
From my house to yours I feel it's only right that I list the comics within my shop which gives someone out there in the universe a chance to truly appreciates these masterpieces.
