I hear people struggle with the concept of sending or giving a thank you note, or a decent thank you card and why It's so important to write one.
Honestly, I never fully understood why. While most of my working tenure has been in the field of customer service - I come to learn one thing, "people will always remember their first interaction with you and how you made them feel."
Ralph Marston once said, "Make it a habit to tell people you appreciate them. To express your appreciation, sincerely and without the expectation of anything in return. Appreciate those around you, and you'll soon find many others around you. Truly appreciate life, and you'll find that you have more of it."
Here's A Couple of Reasons Why Thank You Notes Are Always Necessary -
It's Separates You From The Competition – If you're going up for a job position at work, it just might separate you from the next candidate.
Rooted With Gratitude – Jimmy Fallon made it popular again during his segment on his late-night show. How could you not do it?
It's great for the brain according to a scientific study – You never know what someone could be going through, and how much a genuine handwritten thank you note could do for them.
After Someone Does Anything Significant On Your Behalf – a letter of recommendation, a referral (remember they went out their way to assist you - how could you not take a couple of minutes out of your day to say thank you?)
If You're An Entrepreneur - taking that extra couple of minutes just to write that note of gratitude means more to the business owner than to the customer. Because you chose to shop with us as a small business owner we don't take it for granted it's greatly appreciated. Trust me it's the little things that always make a difference.
